Every day, over 300 million women experience their menstrual cycle, yet many lack accurate information
due to limited support, constrained education, and societal stigma. Maitri, a sister chatbot to Sakhi,
is a multilingual AI initiative designed to fill this gap. Currently empowering over 44 million Bengali
speakers through WhatsApp, Maitri provides verified menstrual hygiene information in Bangla,
helping to dismantle stigma and improve health outcomes for women and girls by making
essential knowledge accessible
